US fest awards Iranian ‘I Dream My Mother’s Dreams’

The 2020 Reading Film Festival in the US awards Iran’s ‘I Dream My Mother’s Dreams’.

Iranian short flick ‘I Dream My Mother’s Dreams’ has grabbed the Best Director Award at the 2020 edition of the Reading Film Festival in the US.

A short synopsis of the short film reads, “A woman aborts her fetus because she distrusts her husband. She has mental problems and has different narrations of her life in her mind.”

Made by Hojjat Gholami, cast members of the short film includes Negar Hassanzadeh, Hadi Ahmadi, Milad Bangi, Ghazaleh Toudeh-Zaeem, Arman Mir-Abdolhaq, and Sepehr Ansari.

The Reading Film Festival presents films that promote conversation about racial issues.

The festival hosts films from independent filmmakers from around the world, including student films, shorts, documentaries and feature films.

The event also includes panel discussions and Q&A sessions with filmmaker.

The latest edition of the festival took place on October 8-11, 2020.
